My name is Meagan Maddocks, and I specialize in working with clients who are living with chronic illnesses. I have been working as a registered clinical counsellor for over 15 years; and I have had the opportunity to work in community and in hospital settings supporting clients who are struggling to balance life's challenges and joys.
When you are living with a chronic illness this balancing act is more difficult, and takes more energy. Sometimes a task you wouldn't have give a second thought to before, now requires all the physical, emotional and mental energy you have for the entire day, if not week.
Based on my personal and professional experience, I know that there are ways to support and manage the balancing act of living with chronic illness and I look forward to working with you. Please note that I also work with care givers and loved ones who may be struggling with how to support a person a living with a chronic illness.
My approach is using a variety of modalities to support and empower clients to trust in their ability to manage and move forward as life presents different issues to balance. I also emphasize that you are the expert in your life, and what you bring into your counselling session is what we work on together. I provide a genuine and empathic space that is warm and non-judgemental.
My background includes:
Adlerian therapy, Solution focused therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Person-centered therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Strength based therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Visualization, Mindfulness and Meditation & Body centered therapy.

Daytime, and evening appointments are available Mondays, Wednesday & Thursdays between the hours of 10am and 6:30pm.
PLEASE NOTE: I now meet clients VIRTUALLY by phone or video sessions
My fees are $150 (gst included) per 50-minute individual session. Appointments are usually scheduled once a week, or once every two weeks according to client need, preference and energy levels.
Payment is accepted by e-transfer or by credit card at the end of each session. A receipt will be provided following payment, and may be submitted for reimbursement to your insurance carrier, if applicable.
Missed appointments which are not cancelled at least 24 hours prior will be charged in full if the session is unable to be filled.
